We are very happy to announce that we now have rentals available in Ketchikan, Alaska. It is a very popular spot for the cruise ships that are heading up the panhandle visiting the various islands and isolated towns in this region. So, if you are visiting Ketchikan, Alaska’s first city, and plan to head out into the woods you can now easily rent bear spray at a very reasonable price. Our goal is to make acquiring bear spray in Alaska super easy and affordable and this latest offering completely aligns with that mission.
Coffee and Bear Spray – A Good Match!
They don’t make a good match from a culinary perspective but, once again, we have partnered with a local coffee shop for our pickup/drop-off location in Ketchikan. The partnerships and processes we have established in Anchorage and Fairbanks seem to work well for the customer so we have, once again, replicated the rental model and have partnered with By the Blue Eatery and Gift Shop. They are open 7 days a week with good business hours that align with tourists in the area:
- Monday: 7am – 6pm
- Tuesday: 7am – 3pm
- Wednesday: 8am – 4pm
- Thursday: 8am – 5pm
- Friday: 8am – 6pm
- Saturday: 9am – 5pm
- Sunday: 8am – 3pm
By the Blue Eatery and Gift Shop is conveniently located within walking distance of the four cruise ship berths that are in downtown Ketchikan. They also have food on their menu so in addition to coffee, you can grab a bite to eat and/or some local gifts when you pickup your bear spray canister(s).
Multi-City Support?
While on the mainland you can rent bear spray in one location and drop it off at another. However, that type of a multi-city arrangement won’t work here since you would have to leave the area by either boat of plane (which usually don’t allow bear spray). Fear not, however, as we are working on a multi-city arrangement that will be just as good and will work around the constraints associated with cruise ships and planes.
